China Unveils World's First 20MW Evaporative Cooling Semi-Direct Drive Permanent Magnet Wind Turbine
On January 6, 2025, CRRC Yongji Electric and the Ganjiang Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly developed the world's first 20MW level evaporative cooling semi direct drive permanent magnet wind turbine, which was successfully launched. Faced with the bottleneck of offshore wind power development, it breaks through the situation with the advantages of efficient heat dissipation, low loss, and strong insulation through evaporative cooling, achieves full chain autonomy, and opens up the "Chinese path" for global offshore wind power, demonstrating the great power of China's scientific and technological collaborative innovation.
